Get to Know Zedekiah

How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as an intelligent, independent, and light-hearted person. I thrive on challenges and continuously set goals for myself. I am not comfortable settling, and I am always looking for an opportunity to do better and give back to others.

Who is another woman who has inspired you in your life? Why does she inspire you? What are some of her compelling qualities?

My abuela, Noemi Rivera. She has shown me by example that women, regardless of how difficult life can get, can do it all. Since I was young, she has encouraged my artistic creativity, giving me a unique perspective and profound passion for art and travel.

If you could have 1 hour of uninterrupted time with her, what would you do ? What would you talk about? Where would you go?

We would be in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, at our favorite place, the beach. We would be talking about our next travel destination and the foods we would want to try. We both manifest traveling the world together and experiencing new cultures, art, fashion, and food.

There are many young Latinas in hopes of starting to pursue their dreams and goals. What advice would you give her?

Don’t make yourself small. Don’t play down your knowledge and abilities. Achieve, know your worth, and represent la cultura proudly.

What quote or phrase has stayed with you?

“I am my own muse. I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to get better.” - Frida Kahlo
